SUCCESS FOR CLUB IN LOCAL SUMMER SERIES

BURTON & DISTRICT SUMMER LEAGUE

PRESENTATION EVENING

A small group from SDRRAC attended the annual Burton & District summer league presentation evening held at the Marston's social club, Burton on the evening of Friday 16th September 2011

Louise Insley after a string of excellent performances was presented with the overall ladies winners' prize together with the Vet35 prize. It is good to see South Derbyshire road runners performing well in the local races and this was confirmed when Inge Moore won the ladies Vet55 award.

To have a chance of gaining an award you needed to have competed in at least five of the eight races and a few of our men were just short of qualifying for prizes.

Next years series of races will see a new 10k race hosted by Peel runners at Tamworth. This is a new club that joined the League this year. It is good to see local running is becoming more popular once more. All runners who participate in all of the eight league races by running or even marshalling also qualify for an award.

Hopefully we can see more more of our runners following the example set by Louise and Inge in the future.

The Leicester Winter league race dates will be available soon so put them in your diaries and good luck.
